The Life of Paul, grisante plongée dans les samples de The Life of Pablo
Goûte Mes Disques et son rédacteur en chef (l'auteur de ces lignes donc, qui aime visiblement parler de lui à la troisième personne) n'ont jamais caché leur amour un brin démesuré pour Kanye West. Et on a beau lui sucer les boules à longueur d'année, on sait être objectifs : oui, The Life of Pablo est un immense disque peut-être son meilleur, à égalité avec Yeezus, et juste devant My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Un disque énorme, au sens propre comme au sens figuré, dont on avait essayé de comprendre les tenants et les aboutissants ici.
Si beaucoup de choses ont été déjà dites sur The Life of Pablo, on vous en reparle pour un projet assez passionnant, développé par un fan assez hardcore de Yeezy : réécrire le disque avec pour angle d'attaque le travail de sampling immense effectué sur TLOP.
Tous les titres de la version originale ont donc été retravaillés, pour mettre en valeur les samples retenus par Kanye West et sa team ; des démos mais également des remixes ont été intelligemment intégrés à certains endroits, donnant une lecture totalement différente mais incroyablement respectueuse de The Life of Pablo.

Mais histoire que vous compreniez mieux où dorian_ye a voulu en venir, on vous copie/colle le tracklisting du projet, qui explique comment chaque titre a été déconstruit puis reconstruit, pour un résultat assez bluffant.
